Job summary

United Way of King County is seeking a Building Manager in Seattle to oversee maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our facilities. You will lead mechanical, electrical, and security systems, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

You’ll supervise one employee, manage budgets and vendors, and work on-site weekday hours with occasional after-hours responses. A high school diploma and 5+ years in facilities work are required; nonprofit experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least five (5)+ years of facilities or property management experience.
  • Experience managing commercial office buildings or nonprofit facilities preferred.
  • Experience with office administration and vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of office buildings and facilities.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities to ensure building is safe and secure.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs and schedule inspections.
  • Manage vendor relationships, bids, contracts, and compliance.
  • Develop and manage facilities budgets and track costs.
  • Ensure OSHA, ADA, fire/life safety compliance and building security.
  • Oversee space planning, furniture, and staff workspace utilization.
  • Supervise one employee and coordinate with staff during hybrid work.
