Job summary

Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) seeks a Facilities Manager based in Boston, with quarterly travel to Detroit and duties across USHG restaurants. You will drive best practices for safe, well-maintained facilities and partner with vendors to deliver timely improvements, balancing hands-on work (20%) with strategic oversight (80%).

You’ll collaborate with operations staff to plan priorities, manage capital projects, and ensure regulatory compliance across the USHG portfolio, while embodying

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Facilities Management experience or equivalent construction/ trades experience.
• Experience in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical or handywork preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and work in tight spaces.
• Ability to perform light maintenance repairs.
• Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office tools.
• Diplomatic communication with high integrity; strong leadership in complex employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site operations teams with facilities upkeep and improvements.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, small repairs, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC work.
• Review locations to anticipate current and future maintenance needs.
• Manage capital improvement projects with vendor quotes and bid oversight.
• Ensure facilities meet code and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor vendor/contractor performance and timely invoicing.
• Communicate with operations staff and vendors for repairs and maintenance.
• Provide on-site support, including after-hours or weekend visits as needed.
