CoreResponsibilities

• DailyCampusOperations&MealtimeLogistics
  • MorningActivation:Openthebuildingeachmorningandmanagethedailyraisingandloweringofthe campus flags.
  • MealSetups&Teardowns:Managethedailytransitionofthecafeteria/multi-purposespaceforbreakfast and lunch. Set up and fold down lunch tables, stage trash/recycling stations, and sweep/mop floor areas as needed between lunch waves.
  • Emergency&BiohazardResponse:Serveastheprimaryemergencyresponderduringtheschooldayfor spills, broken glass, and bodily fluids (vomit, feces, urine, blood) using proper OSHA-compliant PPE and sanitization standards.
  • Restroom&CommonAreaUpkeep:Performmid-daywalk-throughstoensurerestroomsremain stocked, clean, and fully operational throughout peak school hour

  • General Repairs:Serve as the primary on-site handyman. Perform day-to-day repairs including fixing brokendoorhardware,assembling/repairingfurniture,patchingdrywall,hangingwhiteboards/shelving, and fixing locker mechanisms.
  • Plumbing&Electrical:Performlightplumbing(uncloggingdrains/toilets,fixingminorleaks,replacing faucet washers) and basic electrical work (changing bulbs/ballasts, resetting breakers, replacing outlet covers).
  • SystemOversight:Monitorthedailyoperationofbuildingheating/cooling(HVAC),ventilation,and mechanical equipment; perform basic troubleshooting before escalating to specialized contractors.

  • LawnCare&Landscaping:Operatetheschool'sridinglawnmowertomaintainathleticfieldsand campus lawns. Manage weed control, trimming, and general curb appeal.

• MorningPerimeterWalk:Conductacomprehensiveexteriorandinteriorwalk-throughfirstthingevery morning to check for safety hazards, weather damage, vandalism, or security breaches before staff and students arrive.
• SafetyCompliance:Ensureallfireextinguishers,emergencyexitsigns,mainwatershut-offs,gasvalves, and electrical panels are accessible and compliant with local building codes.
• LifeSafetySystems:Coordinateandparticipateinfire,tornado,andlockdowndrills.Maintainworking knowledge of the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).
• SummerDeepCleaning:Leadthechargeonthesummermaintenanceschedule,coordinatingand executingthedeepcleaningofclassrooms,movingfurniture,strippingandwaxinghardfloors,and extracting carpets while the building is empty.
• Painting&FacilityRefresh:Performextensivetouch-uppaintinginhigh-traffichallways,fullyrepaint classrooms as scheduled, and repair drywall damage from the previous school year.

Qualifications&Skills

• Experience:3+yearsofexperienceinfacilitymaintenance,generalcontracting,propertymanagement,or commercial custodial operations (school or institution experience highly preferred).
  • TechnicalAptitude:Provenproficiencywithhandtools,powertools,lightplumbing,basicelectrical maintenance, carpentry, and lawn equipment.
  • PhysicalStamina:Abilitytoliftupto50lbs,climbladders,operatemachinery,stand/walkforextended periods, and work in varying weather conditions (including summer heat and winter snow).
  • Certifications:KnowledgeofOSHAsafetystandardsandBloodbornePathogenresponse(orwillingness to be certified upon hire).
