The Facilities / Physical Plant Director enjoys rolling up their sleeves to keep our busy fitness center functioning and looking its finest. Every day and season brings new challenges as you provide preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, general cleaning, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and policies. This includes regular inspection of the Fitness & Wellness Center building, grounds, and equipment. The manager is directly responsible for all repairs, vendor communication, and coordination with contractors to ensure all work meets applicable codes and regulations. You will manage budgets, assess equipment and facility needs, and oversee capital reserve resources. Additionally, you will assume Manager On Duty (MOD) shifts.
Preferably 2 to 5 years of experience in construction, painting, interior/exterior maintenance, HVAC, general cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and equipment maintenance. Experience supervising others, effective communication, motivation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution are essential. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) are required.
The Manager works in a professional health club setting, with outdoor and indoor projects, involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and climbing. Travel may be required to other locations, company events, training, and to pick up supplies or materials for repairs and upkeep.
