Job summary

Cedarcrest is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities team in Keene, NH. The role focuses on keeping facilities safe, comfortable, and running smoothly, with hands-on involvement across buildings, grounds, and equipment.

You will help with inspections, routine maintenance, and winter preparation, coordinating with the Facilities Manager and external vendors as needed to ensure a welcoming campus for children and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or related field is required.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and independent work style.
• Organized and able to manage multiple requests and projects.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building and grounds inspections for safety and maintenance concerns.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical).
• Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency lights, generators, and safety equipment.
• Maintain vehicles, grounds, and campus exterior; assist with winter maintenance.
• Coordinate with external vendors when expert work is needed.
