Job summary

The Osborne Association is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Maintenance Worker for our Facilities team at the 809 Bronx Office. The role involves custodial duties and basic maintenance to keep the facility clean and safe. The Maintenance Worker reports to the Facilities Manager and may work up to 28 hours weekly.

The position lasts up to six months, with possible extension based on need. Salary ranges from $21.98 to $23.08 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certificate or certification in building trades, maintenance, building systems, or building equipment repair is a plus.
• Valid New York State driver’s license with no suspensions and fewer than 3 points.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply a trauma-informed, client-centered approach with an anti-oppressive lens.
• Clean all facility areas including floors, walls, kitchens, bathrooms, and common spaces; manage trash and clean resident units.
• Perform general maintenance tasks: replace bulbs, test detectors, and assist with minor repairs.
• Move, load, unload, and transport furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Assemble and install furniture and equipment as needed.
• Handle light construction duties: drywall, painting, minor carpentry, and fixture installation using basic tools.
• Operate building systems like boilers, heating, and fire safety equipment.
• Attend assigned training sessions.
• In-person collaboration with colleagues is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
