Job summary

The Osborne Association is seeking a temporary full-time Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities team at the 809 Bronx Office. The role involves custodial duties, basic maintenance, and repair work.

The position requires reporting to the Facilities Manager and working 35 hours per week, for up to six months with potential extension. Salary ranges from $21.98 to $23.08 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or certification in building trade, maintenance, building systems, or building equipment repair is a plus.
• Valid New York State driver’s license with no suspensions and fewer than 3 points.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
• Clean all facility areas including floors, walls, kitchens and bathrooms.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs and detectors’ batteries.
• Move, load, unload, and transport furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Assemble and install furniture and equipment.
• Handle light construction tasks such as drywall, painting, fixtures, and minor repairs.
• Operate basic building systems including boilers and heating and fire safety systems.
• Attend assigned training and collaborate with team in person.
