Ovation Heartwood Preserve is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to support the building’s physical plant in a long-term care community. The role involves routine maintenance, safety checks, cleaning, and coordination with vendors under the Building Maintenance Director’s supervision.

The position operates Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with on-call availability for emergencies. It offers exposure to multiple living environments, including assisted and memory care, and

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining buildings such as long-term care or similar facilities.
• Basic knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Basic knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Fostering warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks (lighting, leaks, general upkeep).
• Conduct safety checks and assist with snow/ice removal.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and floor care.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and repairs.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for larger projects.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety and fire codes.
