Job summary

Walmart in Amory, MS is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine preventive maintenance, inspect and repair facilities and equipment, and manage work orders and schedules to ensure safety and reliability. Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
• Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observes and documents signs of wear and tear.
• Gathers capital expense information; recommends repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determines replacement needs.
• Documents preventive maintenance activities; uses heavy machinery; manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors.
• Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs; orders parts and tracking orders; records purchases and usage.
• Submits warranty claims; ensures compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations; ensures contractors meet Walmart safety and quality standards.
