Job summary

Santa Sophia Catholic Church in Spring Valley, CA is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on campus facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role supports parish, school, and preschool operations and requires diverse trade skills and strong safety awareness.

You will follow the maintenance schedule, record repairs, and assist with event setups while coordinating with church leadership and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have strong working knowledge of repair methods, materials, tools and general maintenance practices.
• Experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, cement work, sanitation and janitorial tasks preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English proficiently and work with basic software.

Responsibilities

• Follow the facilities maintenance schedule for daily and periodic tasks.
• Record and report completed repairs and needed follow-ups.
• Maintain and repair campus facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas.
• Clean and maintain parking areas, sidewalks, and walkways.
• Maintain irrigation systems and inventory supplies.
• Assist with setup for campus events and meetings.
• Inspect campus with leadership to identify safety actions.
• Assist pastor, principal, and staff with parish and school needs.
• Communicate with staff and vendors as required.
