Job summary

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia seeks a Maintenance Worker for St. Edmond’s Home for Children in Bryn Mawr, PA. The role ensures safe, well-maintained buildings and grounds for staff and residents.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, minimum 2 years’ maintenance experience, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and ability to operate heavy machinery. Physical work includes lifting, outdoor duties, and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience required.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License with 3 years driving experience and be able to obtain Archdiocesan driving approval.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery, e.g. backhoe, snow blower, street sweeper, riding mower, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings’ plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Experience with standby generator a plus.
• Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings and makes necessary repairs; repairs or replace building brick, stone, and/or concrete, as needed.
• General grounds maintenance, leaf and snow removal
• Assemble furniture and install fixtures.
• Patch drywall, painting of interior and exterior walls and trim.
• Room set-up for various functions.
• General facility duties, such as wall hangings, moving furniture/heavy objects, unloading and storing supplies, etc.
• Additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Includes rotating weekend & holiday on-call schedule (generally every 3-4 weeks).
