Job summary

Laramie County School District 1 is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to uphold safe operating conditions across district facilities. The role covers plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and building automation, with emphasis on safety and responsive repairs.

The position is a 260-day, 12-month contract with a typical 8-hour day, Monday through Friday. Requires a high school diploma and experience in trades; benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational coursework preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in carpentry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing maintenance including fixtures, toilets and urinals.
• Maintain HVAC equipment and replace belts/filters.
• Carry out carpentry tasks such as hanging items and minor repairs.
• Test pool water and operate chemical feeders.
• Repair lighting, outlets, breakers and small motors.
• Operate building automation software and troubleshoot control systems.
• Monitor boiler operation and water makeup levels.
• Inspect roof and service roof drains and parapets.
• Coordinate with contractors and manage work orders.
• Respond to emergencies to protect students and property.
