Job summary

Laramie County School District 1 is seeking a Facility Technician for Integrated Trades in Cheyenne, WY. Immediate starting date with 260-day schedule and $20.31/hour pay, plus benefits. Position involves a wide range of maintenance tasks across grounds, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and related trades.

Responsibilities

Perform landscaping to maintain school grounds, playgrounds, and athletic fields.
Prepare materials and assist with events.

Assist with installation of playground equipment, fencing, signs, and drainage features.
Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.

Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.

SUMMARY: this position is responsible for maintaining facilities in safe operating condition; assisting with a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, landscaping, painting, etc.); addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; performing specific skilled duties that are pertinent to the completion of diverse projects; ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.

Education and Related Work Experience

High school diploma, or equivalent, required
No experience required, but 1-year experience in grounds maintenance or construction, preferred

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications

Criminal background check required for hire.
Valid state issued Driver’s License, required
Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driving certificate by the conclusion of the district-provided training course
Pesticide Applicators License, preferred, but not required

Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals
Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, etc.
Operating knowledge of district information technology systems and department-specific software and equipment required within 3 months after entering position
Operational knowledge of all powered equipment used to perform job functions, such as heavy equipment, welders, grounds keeping equipment, surveying equipment, etc. preferred at hire, but never required
