Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our nursing centers clean, safe, and well maintained. You will perform routine upkeep to ensure a pleasant environment for residents and staff.

You will perform minor repairs on handrails, windows, HVAC filters, and assist the maintenance supervisor in their absence while stocking supplies. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic wiring, plumbing and carpentry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry is required.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies; assume maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.
