The City of Huntsville, Alabama, General Services Department, is seeking qualified applicants for the Facilities Worker position. This entry-level role involves installation, maintenance and repair work across City-owned facilities, including playgrounds, fencing, bleachers, and bus stop houses.

The position supports other trades and supervisors, performing basic tasks and learning on the job in a city-operated maintenance environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or technical college certification as specified.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.
• Must pass the CDL Class B endorsement written test within 6 months and the driving test within 11 months.

Responsabilités

• Entry level facility maintenance involving installation, maintenance and repair work.
• Assembles, installs and repairs shuttle bus stop houses.
• Assembles, installs or repairs fencing, gates and playground equipment.
• Installs or removes soccer and basketball goals.
• Installs, repairs, and inspects playground equipment.
• Installs and repairs bleachers.
• Assist other trades and a General Services Facilities Supervisor or contractors.
