Job summary

City of Shoreline is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance worker to help keep city buildings, parks and the new maintenance facility safe, functional and welcoming. The role covers a broad range of trades and maintenance tasks across the Parks, Fleet and Facilities Division.

Qualifications include two years of building maintenance experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and an Aquatic Facilitator Operator certification or ability to obtain one within twelve months.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible commercial building maintenance and construction experience.
• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Possession of valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Possession of an Aquatic Facilitator Operator certification or the ability to obtain one within twelve months of appointment.
• Will require weekend work during summer spray park operations and possible after-hours work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in building maintenance and construction trades including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, glazing and mechanical trades.
• Respond to routine and emergency facility requests, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with contractor work.
• Ensure buildings are maintained in a safe condition and in compliance with applicable codes.
• Operate a variety of equipment and tools in a safe and effective manner; read and apply building codes, ordinances and regulations.
• Perform snow removal and deicing operations at the City Hall campus.
• Must be available to work after regular hours and on weekends, when requested.
