SUNY Brockport is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in the Facilities Maintenance department. The role performs routine maintenance, basic repairs, and assists skilled trades under supervision, with independence as skills develop.

Responsibilities include inspections, handling hazardous materials, and supporting emergency tasks. The schedule is 40 hours per week, with potential overtime and shift coverage as needed.

Formación

• Two years of full-time maintenance or mechanical work under supervision of a skilled tradesperson.
• Completion of a two-year technical school program related to maintenance or trades.
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards and ability to read plans/blueprints.

Responsabilidades

• Performs daily inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Applies corrective actions across trades (structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and supports skilled trades as needed.
• Reviews Footprints work order system and provides feedback.
• WILLINGNESS to perform snow removal and overtime as required.
• Performs hazardous material handling and works in confined spaces with PPE.
