New York State Center for Recruitment & Public Service is seeking Maintenance Assistants to perform semi-skilled maintenance across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and related trades. The role involves using tools, conducting repairs, and assisting with renovations under supervision.

Incumbents may oversee other workers and coordinate with contractors as required. Work requires reading and writing English, reliability, and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Formación

• Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under supervision of a skilled trades worker or supervisor.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to work at heights (ladders/scaffolds) and lift 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine semi-skilled maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry and other facility services and equipment.
• Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal, and trash collection.
• Perform general facilities tasks such as cleaning, painting, and moving furniture.
• Troubleshoot facility or equipment problems and resolve issues promptly.
• May supervise subordinates and coordinate with contractors or vendors as needed.
