Job summary

The City of Meridian seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform basic to moderate building maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs at City facilities. This role covers carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting and remodeling while ensuring safety and code compliance.

Ideal candidates have journey-level experience or equivalent in one or more trades, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and document maintenance activities using MS Office and standard reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Requires journey-level experience in building trades or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry basics.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Conduct preventative, predictive, and unplanned maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Oversee vendor/contractor work and assist with contracts and cost estimates.
