Job summary

Simon is seeking a maintenance technician at Burlington Mall to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and related structures. The role covers interior/exterior upkeep, lighting, painting, and basic custodial tasks.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of building maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read drawings and work independently while following OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical training is a plus.
• 2-3 years of building maintenance experience across carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings; ability to convey information clearly to managers, tenants and contacts.

Responsibilities

• Inspects facility and troubleshoots/repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and structural elements.
• Performs maintenance/minor repairs in interior/exterior areas including painting, drywall, lighting, and parking lot upkeep.
• Operates equipment for preventive maintenance and cleans the property.
• Supports other departments (Marketing, Local Leasing) with event setup and cart placement/repair.
• Follows OSHA standards and safety guidelines; maintains safety records and logs.
• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance programs as assigned.
• Keeps inventory, MSDS, supplies, equipment, and tools organized.
• Performs exterior custodial duties as needed (sweeping, mopping, steam cleaning, trash handling).
• May take on additional maintenance duties as assigned.
