Job summary

Colonial Downs Group, owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated, seeks a skilled maintenance technician to service and repair facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks across the site.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, related certifications, and 2 years of maintenance experience, plus a valid racing license and driving record. The role involves varied shifts, including nights and weekends, in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certifications in related fields preferred.
• Two (2) years’ work experience in related field.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.
• Must have a valid driver's license with minimum three (3) years of driving history.
• Experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections of all facility – troubleshooting related equipment and systems; make repairs and adjustments as necessary.
• Performs moderate to complex electrical repairs and modifications.
• Performs moderate to complex plumbing repairs and modifications.
• Performs moderate to complex general carpentry.
• Performs general painting including spackling, hole repair, and dry wall replacement.
• Assists with trash pickup and removal of the interior and exterior of the facility.
• Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
