Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; four years of building or grounds maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Locksmith Certification within 12 months; ability to obtain DOC clearance if supervising inmate workers.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical and mechanical work and uses hand/power tools.
• Maintains, services and repairs HVAC units, water heaters, small motors, fans, pumps, and refrigeration systems.
• Interprets drawings and prepares material and labor estimates for maintenance projects.
• Edits/repairs electrical systems, conduit, switches, control panels, and security systems.
• Performs interior repairs including locks, faucets, toilets, drains; exterior repairs to roofs, walls, and sidewalks.
• Coordinates with County staff, inspectors, and vendors for maintenance activities.
• Uses safety procedures and protective gear; follows safety practices on all tasks.
• Prepares project reports and travels to various facilities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Trains colleagues and explains County procedures or processes.
