Job summary

The Gila River Indian Community is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker in Sacaton, AZ to perform custodial and skilled maintenance across community facilities. The role involves carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general repairs, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Requires a High School diploma or GED and at least three years of skilled maintenance experience, with tribal driving permit expectations and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Required knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety procedures.
• Ability to detect and correct custodial/building maintenance problems.
• Ability to perform custodial/facilities maintenance service efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance carpentry; replace doors, hinges, locks, and door knobs as required; install window frames, sashes, glass, and related components.
• Service water pumps and evaporative coolers; inspect operations and repair leaks.
• Service heating units and electrical wiring; replace components and check for faults.
• Perform general duties such as moving supplies, cleaning, and assembling equipment as needed.
• Maintain and repair plumbing, water lines, and fixtures; inspect and repair water heaters.
