Job summary

Simon Property Group in McAllen, TX is seeking a Maintenance Worker to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems at La Plaza Mall. The role involves inspecting facilities, carrying out minor repairs such as painting and lighting, operating equipment for preventive maintenance, and supporting event setups.

A High School diploma and 2–3 years of maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical training preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience across carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.
Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge of safety rules and accident prevention measures.
Self-starter with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Inspect facility, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, and structural elements.
Perform maintenance and minor repairs on interior/exterior areas including painting, drywall, lighting.
Operate equipment for preventive maintenance and maintain cleanliness of property.
Assist Marketing with events and Local Leasing with cart placement and repairs.
Follow OSHA and safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as assigned by management.
Maintain inventories, MSDS, supplies, equipment and tools.
Maintain logs documenting activity and perform exterior custodial duties as needed.
