Job summary

The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps is seeking a Facilities/Maintenance worker to perform janitorial duties and general property maintenance at the corps facility. You will handle preventative maintenance tasks, scheduling and vehicle upkeep, and respond to resident issues as needed.

Responsibilities include cleaning, simple repairs, grounds care, light fixture checks, and assisting with guest directions.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years minimum experience in maintenance work.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Clean MVR and driving ability if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Corps Leader in daily operations and oversee Santa Monica Corps.
• Clean all rooms, kitchen, and offices of corps building.
• Repair facility issues and perform handyman repairs.
• Maintain outside grounds, parking areas, and vegetation.
• Power-wash sidewalks, patio, and parking lot as needed.
• Check all light fixtures throughout the building.
• Coordinate materials pickups and drop-offs throughout the year.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment in and around the alley.
• Greet guests and direct visitors to appropriate designation.
