Job summary

Provo City Housing Authority (PCHA) seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain grounds and perform light building upkeep across agency properties. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and timely repairs to support safe, comfortable homes for residents.

Under supervision, you will operate power tools, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to on-call needs during peak periods. This is a full-time position in Provo with a pay range of $23.42–$26.34 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of housing rehab or building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and building construction activities.
• Valid Utah driver's license with clean driving record.
• Pesticide license required within 90 days of employment.
• Legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance across all agency properties, including mowing, trimming, irrigation repairs.
• Landscaping tasks: planting, trimming, pruning, edging, sod, and fertilization as instructed.
• Debris removal and proper disposal of waste and hazards.
• Minor repairs to roofs, gutters, and other structural elements.
• Maintain walkways and entryways, clean surfaces, and address mud or debris.
• Address safety issues such as tripping hazards and holes.
• Care for tools and equipment; fuel tractors/mowers; perform preventive maintenance.
• Support unit runs by painting, repairing, or cleaning units as needed.
• Assist with preventive maintenance: smoke detectors, lights, vents, door locks.
• Support road maintenance tasks and signage as directed.
• Report unusual conditions to Facilities Manager; assist with logistics.
• Keep materials and work areas organized; participate in after-hours work as needed.
• Maintain PPE usage and safety compliance; uphold professional standards.
