Job summary

Providence Housing Authority is seeking an entry-level custodian to perform unskilled and diversified duties across general maintenance, custodial, and janitorial tasks. The role emphasizes keeping facilities, grounds, and common areas clean and orderly to support tenants and staff.

You will routinely sweep, mop, disinfect restrooms, clean windows, and assist with basic repairs; operate small cleaning and lawn equipment; and help secure buildings as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand English language to an acceptable level for productivity standards.
• High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine custodial, maintenance and grounds keeping tasks as described.
• Cleans and polishes floors, maintains rest rooms, and grounds.
• Performs minor buildings/grounds maintenance and responds to work orders.
• Operates agency vehicles up to 2 ton capacity.
