Job summary

One Hope United is seeking a Maintenance Associate to help maintain and service grounds, equipment, and buildings across agency facilities in Illinois. This role supports clients and staff by performing carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general maintenance, while ensuring safety and equipment reliability.

The position requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of related experience, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (preferred).
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position (preferred).
• Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools.
• Basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge.
• Teamwork with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned maintenance work considering client and staff needs.
• Maintain and service equipment and appliances in agency facilities.
• Perform building maintenance including carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Maintain grounds: lawn care, landscape, snow removal, and walks/roadways.
• Maintain agency-owned vehicles and power tools.
• Maintain plumbing, sewers, and building equipment (heating, A/C, appliances).
• Move furniture and equipment as required for deliveries and events.
• Conduct safety and on-call emergency maintenance tasks.
