Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member in Fort Lauderdale, FL to ensure mechanical systems operate smoothly and common areas are clean, safe, and disinfected. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with a starting pay of $22 per hour and full benefits.

Responsibilities include routine floor walks, safety compliance, communication with building staff, painting, completing work orders, and minor repairs across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in multiple languages is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors including roof checks and reports issues.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationship with building staff.
• Paints common areas and touches up as needed; inspects areas needing paint.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Assists with carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring repairs as needed.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
