Job summary

FirstService Residential in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure mechanical systems and common areas are well-maintained and cleaned to an aesthetically appealing and disinfected standard. The role covers carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring, and general maintenance tasks.

The position requires 2+ years in building trades, strong communication, and the ability to work safely. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with a pay rate of $22/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors including roof checking for problems and lights out and reports back to supervisors.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains working relationship with building staff.
• Painting of all common areas and touch up may be required. Inspect areas that need paint and advise manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Performs minor maintenance replacement and repairs in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through daily scheduled work orders.
