Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will maintain mechanical systems, keep common areas clean and disinfected, and handle routine repairs and upkeep across various building trades.

The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, working from floors to ladders, and following safety procedures. Candidates with 2+ years in building trades and good communication will fit well.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors and reports issues to supervisors.
• Ensure safety precautions are followed during work.
• Maintain good working relationship with building staff.
• Paint common areas and advise manager on touch-ups as needed.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintain assigned equipment in good condition.
• Assist with lifting heavy items and follow safety procedures.
• Perform minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and flooring.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
