Job summary

ESFM, the Corporate Integrated Facilities Management division of Compass Group USA, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for a site in Richmond, VA. The role involves hands-on maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems, with opportunities to lead a small team and ensure safety and reliability.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with on-call rotation. Pay ranges from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
• Must have one of the following: Master license in one trade or Journeyman Electrical/Plumber license or EPA certification in Refrigerant, etc.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assists in decisions on repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
• Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or related facilities, using tools.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other department members.
• Reviews work of outside vendors; makes punch lists.
• Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or with a team.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Serves on the facility emergency response team.
