Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Administrative Services, Division of Plant and Property, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Concord. This full-time role focuses on maintaining heating, cooling, and electrical systems in state buildings, with emphasis on reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.

Hours are 40 per week, with a starting hourly pay range of $25.40–$34.14. Applicants may substitute education for experience and vice versa. A NH driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 5.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Education must be in mechanical or electrical technology or maintenance.
• Experience must be in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical equipment used in buildings.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs and maintains heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilating systems to ensure proper operation.
• Adjusts, repairs and calibrates hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and electronic controls and motors.
• Installs and repairs energy management data gathering panels to maintain buildings in an environmentally correct condition.
• Tests and chemically treats heating and cooling systems to minimize costly repairs and replacement.
• Orders material and supplies and maintains an inventory to save state money.
• Maintains records of maintenance logs, job costs and time for budgets.
• Trains subordinates to ensure safe and proper work.
• Supervises helpers and assists other trades personnel to complete tasks.
• Responds to emergency calls for building maintenance on/off hours.
• Monitors contractors to protect state buildings from theft and vandalism.
