Facilities Maintenance Technician – Build & Improve

Job summary

Cherry Street Mission Ministries in Toledo, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist with day-to-day preventive, corrective, and building improvement work across all CSMM facilities. This role supports the Operations team and reports to the Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of skilled trade experience, and the ability to operate ladders, aerial lifts, forklifts, and various vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must have a basic understanding of building construction.
• Must be able to complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
• Must have proficient computer skills.
• Must be comfortable operating, or learning to operate, aerial lifts, forklifts, work vehicles, 14 Passenger Minibus, Box Truck, and other machinery needed in order to complete work.
• Must work well with others.
• Must be proficient in using hand and power tools.
• Must Be comfortable working off of 4’,6’,8’,10’ A-Framed ladders, as well as comfortable working off of extension ladders.
• Must have knowledge of construction materials available in order to complete work to the set standards of the ministry and in order to meet local building codes.
• Must have exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of day-to-day preventive, corrective, and building improvement work across CSMM facilities.
• Assist in the upkeep of vendor accounts and department purchasing, budgeting, and receipts.
• Oversee mechanical contracts & contractors; ensure work tracked in E-Maintenance software.
• Maintain maintenance shop, storage areas, office, and work trucks; keep hazards managed.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies at all facilities.
• Lead the Maintenance Serving hour guest program and Maintenance Volunteer Projects.
