Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support county buildings and grounds in Ohio. Under supervision, you will perform maintenance and repair tasks across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds care, including winter snow removal and vehicle operation.

The role requires reading blueprints, estimating materials, and maintaining safety standards. A valid Ohio driver’s license is often required, with a standard 8:00–4:30 schedule and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be able to inspect, diagnose problems and complete repairs promptly.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, masonry and carpentry basics.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints; estimate materials for jobs.

Responsibilities

• Open, complete, and close work orders for county departments.
• Install/repair plumbing, electrical and lighting systems.
• Maintain grounds including lawn care and winter snow removal.
• Perform carpentry tasks such as shelves, cabinets, doors, and floor work.
• Move and assemble office furniture and equipment; paint and wallpaper as needed.
• Operate a truck, snow plow, forklift and lawn equipment; ensure safety compliance.
