SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Maintenance Assistant position. The Maintenance Assistant performs routine, repetitive maintenance, installation, and repair tasks in one or a combination of the mechanical, building construction, motor equipment, and electrical trades.

They also perform journey level activities, under supervision or after receiving detailed instructions, to learn and perfect their skills.

Competenze

• Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under supervision of a skilled tradesperson.
• Completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course (e.g., NYS CSEA-P Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program).
• Ability to read plans, specifications, manuals, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
• Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Mansioni

• Performs daily inspections of facilities to identify maintenance tasks or deficiencies.
• Performs corrective actions to identified deficiencies across trades and reports concerns.
• Assists skilled trades' persons when needed.
• Reviews the Footprints work order system and provides feedback.
• Performs snow removal tasks and routine/over-time tasks.
