Job summary

SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Maintenance Supervisor 1 position. The Maintenance Supervisor 1 supervises and coordinates the activities of skilled and semi-skilled employees and other workers engaged in performing maintenance, preventative maintenance and inspections throughout the campus.

This is a working supervisor role with responsibilities across several trades. The role also develops and maintains quality assurance programs, works with internal and external stakeholders,

Qualifications

• One year of trade experience after apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License, Class D or above.
• Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Certification must be obtained within six months.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures related to the work.
• Willingness to do overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a number of semi-skilled and skilled trades employees.
• Prepares employees evaluations.
• Inspects employees quality of work.
• Coordinates design proposals and work schedules with internal and external customers.
• Prepares scope and specification writings for projects (materials and bid proposals).
• Uses Microsoft Project and other computer systems by preparing project plans and tracking time and materials.
• Ensures the timely completion of projects by coordinating activities and resources and meeting routinely with other Facilities and Planning leaders and supervisors.
