Job summary

PACS is seeking a maintenance worker to keep grounds, facilities, and equipment in safe, efficient condition in line with federal, state, and local standards. You will follow maintenance schedules, perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and more, and ensure resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nursing staff during routine tasks, reporting incidents, and upholding confidentiality of resident information while maintaining a clean, organized work

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
• Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
• Mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Other related duties as directed by supervisor, department director, or administrator.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment (plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) as directed.
• Clean windows and screens; replace burned out light bulbs; service heating/cooling units/systems.
• Follow established safety precautions; assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
