Job summary

Lytle Independent School District in Lytle, TX, seeks a General Maintenance Worker to perform maintenance and repair of district facilities, grounds, vehicles, and events. You will assist with building electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks as directed by the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities include inspections, minor repairs, and moving/relocating furniture and equipment. Valid Texas driver’s license required; immediate starting date.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal).
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Demonstrated ability to operate portable welder.
• One year experience in Operations Primary Skill Area.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and any other task as skills are learned by the Director of Operations or assigned supervisor.
• Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairs.
• Move, install, assemble, and repair all school furniture and playground equipment as needed.
• Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and other items as required.
• Install door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.
