Job summary

Lubbock County is seeking a motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and renovate county buildings and grounds. You will use hand tools, operate basic equipment, and assist skilled technicians when needed.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, CMMS documentation, inventory, and minor installations. A high school diploma and a Texas driver’s license are required, with vocational training viewed favorably; after-hours responses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years of related experience.
• Texas Driver’s License required; trade schooling is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations on county facilities.
• Operate hand tools and light motorized equipment; assist techs as needed.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and document in CMMS.
• Inventory supplies, requisition parts, and install furniture or fixtures.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and after-hours requests as needed.
• Follow county safety policies and maintain professional customer service.
