Job summary

CABVI is seeking a Full-time Facilities Mechanic to coordinate and complete maintenance and repairs of CABVI buildings, grounds, machinery, and vehicles. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and install plant equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma with 5 years of maintenance experience, NYS driver’s license, and forklift certification. OSHA knowledge and strong communication are essential; occasional general grounds and janitorial tasks

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of building and machine maintenance experience.
NYS driver’s license required.
Forklift certification required.
Trade certification or license preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
Perform routine building maintenance including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks.
Install and maintain production machines and plant facilities equipment.
Adapt workstations to enable blind employees to perform jobs effectively.
Maintain work request log and respond to emergencies.
Comply with safety regulations and keep a clean, orderly work area.
General grounds maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
