Job summary

ShelterCare is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for its Eugene facilities, including apartments and houses. You will perform indoor/outdoor painting, drywall, dry-rot repair, framing, window installation, and floor repair, plus basic plumbing and mechanical tasks.

The role is non-exempt and paid hourly, with a starting wage of $20.33–$22.00 per hour, on-call rotation after training, and benefits including paid holidays, PTO, insurance, and wellness stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn quickly and work on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, etc.
• Be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Knowledge of fencing, concrete work, furniture refinishing and preventative maintenance.
• Must be available for weekly rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to drive agency vehicles.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and upkeep of ShelterCare facilities including apartments and houses.
• Indoor and outdoor painting; drywall; dry-rot repair; frame doors; install windows; floor repair underlayment, tile, carpet and vinyl.
• Minor plumbing tasks such as clearing drains and toilets; replace hot water tanks, faucets, shower valves, etc.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems (exhaust fans, dryer ducts, furnaces, filters, etc.).
• Change outlets, switches, GFI outlets, fixtures; rebuild heaters and thermostats; replace bulbs and ballasts.
