Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and inviting appeal of its centers. You will maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems, while coordinating with staff and vendors to deliver high-quality care environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, playgrounds, roofing in a multi-unit environment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment; basic preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle per policy.
• Strong time management, professional communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply facility maintenance manuals, technical bulletins, drawings, plans, specs.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in operating work-related electronic equipment (e.g., iPad, laptop).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform regular preventative maintenance at assigned centers, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting, and carpentry; minor plumbing tasks.
• Conduct safety and security inspections of playgrounds and property.
• Assist with renovations and new construction inspections and identify capital replacement needs.
• Engage with center staff to promote best maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with local vendors for complex repairs and monitor vendor performance.
• Create and update work orders and provide status updates using CMMS.
