Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our centers safe, functional, and welcoming for children and families.

You will perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, inspect playgrounds, assist renovations, and coordinate with staff and vendors using our CMMS.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, playgrounds, roofing, etc. in a multi-unit environment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and ability to diagnose and repair.
• Qualified to operate a company vehicle based on MVR check and policy.
• Strong time management, professional communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply maintenance manuals, bulletins, drawings and specs.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in operating work-related electronic equipment (iPhone, iPad, laptop).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance at assigned centers (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting, carpentry).
• Conduct safety inspections of playgrounds and property.
• Assist with renovations and new construction inspections and identify capital replacement projects.
• Actively engage with center staff to promote best practices in facility maintenance.
• Engage with local vendors to complete complex repairs and monitor vendor performance.
• Order materials, update or create work orders, and provide CMMS status updates.
