Job summary

SanMar is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support daily DC operations at the Ashland, VA location. The role focuses on general maintenance, carpentry, painting, and preventive upkeep of building systems to ensure a safe and efficient environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of facility maintenance experience, proficiency with hand/power tools, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A Lift Operator Certification may be required per OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of facility maintenance experience.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.
• Excellent organization and ability to prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and standards.
• May need Lift Operator Certification per OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including carpentry, minor repairs and painting.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on building mechanical equipment; inspect belts, fluids, replace filters, grease bearings.
• Relocate and adjust furniture as needed.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve facility-related issues.
• Maintain HAZMAT records and compliance with regulations.
• Interact with outsourced building services (janitorial, window cleaning, etc.).
• May operate powered lift equipment.
• Maintain repair and maintenance logs.
• Follow policies and standards; overtime may be required.
