Job summary

City of Temple, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine and skilled trades on the interior and exterior of City facilities. The role includes repairs, furniture setup, and on-call duties on a rotating basis.

Under supervision, you will inspect buildings, perform preventative HVAC maintenance, execute work orders, track time, and coordinate with vendors as needed. This position requires a high school diploma and at least three years of related maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of building maintenance or a variety of skilled trades in related area.
• Knowledge of building components and systems, including heating & cooling, plumbing, electrical, roofing, walls, etc.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other minor construction as assigned.
• Assembles, installs, moves, and dismantles furniture, boxes, appliances, and décor.
• Ensures buildings are in proper working condition, inspects and maintains items, and performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
• Uses a web-based work order system to track details and record time incurred to complete tasks.
• Obtains quotes for work or materials after consultation with Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
