Job summary

City of Humble in Humble, TX is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician I to perform routine maintenance, repair, and alterations of city buildings and fixtures. The role covers carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, and various mechanical repairs within city facilities.

The position requires basic hand tools proficiency, ability to operate power tools, and adherence to safety rules. A High School diploma or equivalent is required; 6 months in facilities maintenance preferred.

Qualifications

• Regular attendance and punctuality required.
• Ability to perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
• Must pass CJIS background, physical, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Regular and timely attendance at work
• Operates City vehicles and other equipment as needed
• Maintains and repairs City facilities, equipment, and buildings by performing carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, and mechanical repair work
• Operates and maintains a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, sewer augers, and various hand tools required for maintenance tasks
• Inspects facilities to identify building maintenance needs; performs repair and maintenance of wood structures
• Moves furniture and equipment; assembles prefabricated furniture
• Adheres to departmental, personnel, and safety rules and regulations
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
