Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, CA. The role covers troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural elements of the property.

You will inspect and repair systems, perform interior/exterior maintenance, and coordinate with Marketing and Leasing for events, all while adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 2–3 years building maintenance across carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Ability to read plans and schematics and follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds; valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems and safety practices.
• Experience with fire protection and alarm systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facility; troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Maintenance of interior/exterior areas: painting, drywall, lighting, plumbing; sidewalks and parking areas.
• Operate equipment for preventive maintenance and keep logs.
• Assist Marketing and Local Leasing with event setup and cart placement.
• Follow OSHA and safety guidelines to promote a safe work environment.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as assigned.
• Maintain inventory records, MSDS, supplies, and tools.
• Inspect air handling units, belts, filters, and grease components.
• Perform exterior custodial duties as needed.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
