East Tennessee Children's Hospital is seeking a facilities technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks. This on-site role reports to the Engineering Manager and requires hands-on problem solving and safe operation of tools.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, be willing to cover on-call shifts, and hold a valid Tennessee driver license.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing.
  • Must maintain schedule flexibility, assisting in coverage of other shifts when needed.
  • Will be required to cover on-call in the technician rotation and respond when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Works effectively from computerized work order system and written or verbal instructions. Completes all tasks correctly and in a timely manner: Prioritizes urgency of work requests.
  • Provides correct and timely maintenance of various aspects of facility.
  • Maintains HVAC system by performing preventive maintenance on equipment; changes filters, cleans coils, changes and/or inspects belts.
  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains electrical systems; replaces light bulbs; performs other minor repairs as instructed.
  • Provides light carpentry duties: Installs shelving, and repairs windows, screens, blinds, and suspended ceilings.
