Job summary
Lapeer County Medical Care Facility is seeking a Maintenance worker to uphold the safety and functionality of the grounds, facility, and equipment. You will perform routine maintenance tasks, assist in remodeling projects, and help ensure preventative maintenance is documented and up to date.
The role requires basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical knowledge, along with ability to operate common hand tools and lifting devices.
Qualifications
- Basic maintenance skills across facilities including carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
- Ability to operate and maintain lawn tractors, snow removal equipment and general tools.
- Experience with preventative maintenance records and basic reporting procedures.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders as assigned by supervisor.
- Coordinate with nursing services for routine maintenance in resident areas.
- Perform remodeling tasks such as carpentry, plumbing and painting as needed.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records and report safety incidents.
- Assist with transportation of supplies, equipment and residents as required.
- Operate snow removal equipment during winter conditions.
- Ensure safety rules are followed and use of basic hand tools.
- Unloading deliveries and assisting custodians as needed.
